Athletics

St. John Paul II Catholic High School (JPII) offers AHSAA Sanctioned sports.

The school's athletes have distinguished themselves as viable competitors at the local, state and regional levels, with state-ranked teams in cross country, volleyball and soccer.  A member of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), the school now competes in the 4A classification for most sports.

Some sports highlights from recent years include:

  • 2016 Cross Country Boys Team AHSAA Sectional Runner-Up, State Runner Up, 3 runners All-State
  • 2016 Swim Girls Team AHSAA Sectional Runner Up, 3rd place in State
  • 2018-2019: AHSAA Wrestling State Tournament: Patrick McCarron - 3rd; Gerry McCarron - 3rd; Jayson Spencer - 4th
  • 2017 Soccer Girls State Runner-Up
