The St. John Paul II Falcon Band promotes the fine arts among the students and local community. Participation in the band fosters discipline, teamwork, responsibility and an appreciation for fine music. The concert band is the main performing ensemble. They perform four concerts per year – Sacred Arts concert in October, Veterans Day program in November, Christmas concert in December, and the Spring concert in May. In addition to these performances, the band takes an annual tour of our partner schools as well as a trip over Spring break. Past trips have included Disney World, New York City, New Orleans and Atlanta. The band also performs for the District/State Music Performance Assessment in the Spring.
PEP BAND/MARCHING BAND
2017 marks the first time the JPII Band has performed a halftime show at their football games. We hope to build on this in the future. In 2015 we marched for the first time in the annual Huntsville Veterans Day Parade. The pep/marching band plays for all home football games, and has also performed for the Huntsville Havoc hockey team, and at Redstone Village for their Memory Care Unit.
