Congratulations to Nathanael Pichette for winning the Visual Arts of Alabama award! His etching entitled “The End of Summer” will be displayed and he will be honored at a celebration at the Huntsville Museum of Art on March 10, and Congratulations to Sabrina Frazier! Her artwork, Beauty in the Fractures and Fragile, has also been chosen for and honor and will be part of the Youth Art Month exhibit, which will be held from March 10 until April 29 at the Huntsville Museum of Art.

Thanks to all of you we were able to meet our goal of $600 for the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile, Alabama.
Reminder all those participating in the solo/ensemble festival tomorrow, please meet in the chapel directly after school. Also, many of the choir students will be auditioning at the Solo/Ensemble festival tomorrow morning. Please wish blessings and luck to them today.

Please bring in NEW twin size sheets, pillows, and blankets for the children in our community who have to sleep on the floor. You can drop off donations in the library or front office.

The Sleep in Heavenly peace bedding drive has been extended until the end of February! There is a crucial need for NEW twin size sheets, pillows, and blankets for the children in our community who have to sleep on the floor. You can drop off donations in the library or front office. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

The students of JPII are please to announce the online publication of Epiphany First Edition for the 2018-2019 school year! Epiphany is the hardwork and dedication of co-editors Aemilia Sturgeon and Jack Teare. In addition to the wonderful original artwork of the talented students. Original written pieces are also included for your reading pleasure. So we encourage you to sit back, have a hot cup of coffee and read through this amazing publication!
Arab High School hosted one of the toughest wrestling tournaments in Alabama this past weekend, and the JPII Falcons claim two titles! The tournament featured athletes from 1A through 7A with teams from Georgia and Tennessee also competing. Jayson Spencer went 5-0 in the tournament, pinning everyone he faced to claim a tournament title. He was also recognized with the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler Award. Jayson completed the tournament ranked #1 in 1A-5A and ranked #2 in all of AHSAA. Gerry McCarron followed in similar fashion. He dominated in his first matches with four consecutive first-period pins. Gerry won his last match, outscoring his opponent 9-2 to get the decision. He completed the tournament with an individual title and ranked #1 overall at 170lb. by AHSAA.
The Falcons girls and boys track & field teams competed in the Last Chance meet this past weekend. Six states and 95 schools competed at the Crossplex in Birmingham. Falcon runners, Bridget Cianfaglione, Caroline Sturgis, Colette Jones and Dianna Boyer took first in the 4x800 relay and Brandon Cianfaglione, Quinn Butter, Christopher Pruitt, and Adler Brininger placed 2nd in the same relay. Additionally, Dianna and Quinn improved their school records in the 800. The girls team finished 12th (1A - 7A all classes and states) including beating James Clemons (19th), Randolph (24th) Huntsville (31st), Bob Jones (40th), Madison Academy (41st) and Grissom (95th). The boys team finished 21st including beating Madison Academy and Grissom. The Indoor State Meet is next Friday and Saturday, February 1 & 2 at 9:00am at the Crossplex in Birmingham. Congratulations!
